🏛️ Overview of the Division:


The Human Rights Division at the University of Basra for Oil and Gas seeks to promote awareness of human rights culture and disseminate humanitarian principles that guarantee justice and equality for all people. The division organizes awareness events and workshops, provides consultations, and strengthens adherence to human rights standards in both academic and community environments.


The Human Rights Division envisions itself as an academic and community resource for disseminating human rights culture and promoting its practices, thereby contributing to building a just and equitable university environment that respects individual rights and preserves human dignity.


The Human Rights Division works to promote human rights concepts within and outside the university through education, awareness, training, and scientific research, focusing on the values ​​of equality, justice, and mutual respect.


🎯 Division Tasks


1. Planning Unit


• Reviewing requests for the establishment of new colleges, academic departments, administrative departments, divisions, and units to ensure compliance with the regulations and conditions for establishment, before submitting them and obtaining approvals from the relevant authorities.


• Working on issuing university orders related to the establishment of new entities.


• Updating the administrative and organizational structure of the university and its affiliated units, showing the distribution of employees across divisions and administrative units.


• Developing short-term and long-term plans to achieve the university's objectives with minimal effort and in the shortest possible time.


2. Statistics Unit


• Studying statistical tables in all colleges and departments affiliated with the university administration.


• Analyzing these tables to obtain charts and graphs that contribute to the development of planning and statistical processes, ultimately leading to the improvement of the educational process.


• Providing relevant authorities with statistical data and tables. • Preparing and submitting statistical bulletins related to students to the Ministry.


• Completing the university statistics and annual report and submitting them to the Ministry.


• Drafting responses to official internal and external correspondence.


• Maintaining hard copies of the department's mail.


• Updating the staff database (faculty members, permanent staff, contract employees, and seconded staff).

• Preparing the university statistical report for students across all university departments, including details on the number of admitted students, age groups, governorates, and academic performance.


• Providing monthly statistical updates for the university administration and its departments (faculty members, staff, and students).


• Managing the social media database: the WhatsApp group for the Statistics and Information Division's connection with the Ministry; the official email address for the Statistics and Information Division with the Ministry; and the Telegram channel for communication between the division and the university administration and its departments.

• This includes entering and updating the data of university administration staff annually, and overseeing the system across all university departments.


• The graduate database for all university departments.


• Annual reports: The annual statistical report includes all information related to the faculty at the university administration and its departments (research, seminars, conferences, patents, authored books, workshops).


3. Data Unit


• Responding to all external correspondence (ministerial and other departments) and internal correspondence related to university colleges.


• Maintaining paper records and electronically tracking the Studies and Planning Division's email.


• Managing the department's email and sending emails electronically.
