Studies, Planning and Follow-up Division

The Studies, Planning, and Follow-up Division is a principal administrative division within the Presidency of the University of Basrah for Oil and Gas. It plays a pivotal role in institutional performance development, preparing strategic plans, monitoring their implementation, and continuously analyzing and updating data, thereby contributing to achieving the university’s goals efficiently and effectively, and promoting the principles of governance and administrative organization.

• Preparing the university's strategic and operational plans (short- and long-term) and monitoring their execution to ensure performance efficiency.
• Studying requests for establishing colleges, scientific and administrative departments, divisions, and units, verifying their compliance with regulations, and issuing relevant university orders.
• Updating the organizational and administrative structure of the university and its formations, and distributing employees across units.
• Managing central databases for university personnel (faculty, staff, permanent staff, contracts), updating them periodically, and monitoring their employment affairs (transfers, secondments, assignments, appointments).
• Preparing university statistics as well as annual and monthly reports, and submitting them to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
• Preparing and analyzing statistical data for students (admission, geographical distribution, academic levels) and faculty members (research, patents, conferences, publications).
• Preparing admission plans for undergraduate studies under both morning and evening systems and following up on their execution.
• Organizing and managing official outgoing and incoming correspondence with the Ministry, departments, and relevant authorities, ensuring mail archiving (paper and electronic) and accurate tracking.
• Managing official communication channels (email, tracking groups) to ensure the smooth flow of administrative work.
• Providing technical and statistical support to relevant authorities and responding to internal and external official correspondence.
