🏛️ About the Department:


The Construction and Projects Department is responsible for overseeing the implementation of construction and development projects within the institution, monitoring maintenance and rehabilitation work, and ensuring that projects are executed according to technical specifications and established timelines. The department also works on preparing future plans for infrastructure development and improving performance efficiency.


🔹 Duties and Responsibilities of the Construction and Projects Department


The Construction and Projects Department is an administrative department under the University Presidency and is responsible for all matters related to the university's infrastructure, construction projects, and urban development.


The department performs several tasks and responsibilities, as detailed below:


• Preparing preliminary and planning studies to assess the needs of the University Presidency, colleges, and centers for new facilities, buildings, and expansions, in accordance with the university's master plan, as well as investment projects and applicable laws and regulations.


• Preparing studies, technical requirements, and follow-ups related to annual investment and operational budget projects concerning buildings and their maintenance.


• Providing engineering and technical consultations to all university departments and other university facilities regarding buildings and their construction, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning services.


• Providing engineering and technical supervision and directly overseeing approved projects, working within joint committees under the Resident Engineer's Office for projects and other construction works implemented under the investment budget, the Investment Law, and the Law on the Sale and Lease of State Assets, as well as maintenance work carried out from the current budget (executed by the Ministry of Interior), and participating in the supervision and acceptance of works implemented by university departments.


• Monitoring projects implemented within the university by specialized technical engineering committees and preparing monthly progress reports for each project to indicate the percentage of technical and financial completion, identify any obstacles or problems that arise during the work, and find appropriate solutions.


• Preparing the necessary engineering specifications for maintenance and rehabilitation work on buildings and infrastructure for the university administration and all other departments, and executing the work according to the Ministry of Interior's implementation instructions.


🎯 Tasks of the Divisions within the Construction and Projects Department:


The department consists of two divisions:


1- Planning and Follow-up Division

This division performs several tasks, including:


• Preparing designs and plans


• Preparing estimated costs for university projects


• Following up on official correspondence with ministries and governmental and non-governmental departments


2- Project Implementation Division

This division performs several tasks, including:


• On-site supervision of projects

• Ensuring that work is carried out according to plans

• Monitoring project completion rates

• Ensuring that work conforms to approved technical specifications within the established timelines

• Monitoring laboratory tests of all construction materials to guarantee quality execution
