🏛️ About the Division:


The Science and Technology Parks Division at the University of Basrah for Oil and Gas, under the supervision of its head, Professor Ali Khudair, is the heart of innovation and the bridge between the output of academic research and the rapidly evolving demands of the industrial and technological job market. Moving beyond the traditional concept of management, this division provides a comprehensive and systematic environment aimed at stimulating the flow of knowledge and technology between the university and industrial institutions. The division strives to create an "ecosystem" that brings together researchers, innovators, and investors to ensure the transformation of theoretical ideas and research into tangible economic projects that support the national economy, particularly in the energy sector.

Technology Incubators Unit


• Incubating and developing promising innovative projects submitted by students and researchers, and providing a fertile environment for their growth.


• Transforming entrepreneurial ideas from the theoretical realm into practical working models (prototypes) ready for industrial implementation.


• Providing technical and advisory support to entrepreneurs to ensure the viability and sustainability of their projects in the market.


Scientific Output Unit


• Building and managing the institutional digital repository for all research and scientific outputs issued by the university.


• Governing and archiving digital knowledge assets according to the latest academic standards to ensure easy access and retrieval.


• Marketing distinguished scientific outputs and linking applied research outputs with beneficiaries in development sectors.


Entrepreneurship Unit


• Spreading and establishing a culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship within the university community as a strategic alternative to traditional employment.


• Supporting student-led startups through mentorship programs that focus on business management and competitiveness skills.


• Organizing initiatives that contribute to building a generation of young people capable of leading small and medium-sized investment projects.


Qualification and Employment Unit

• Aligning graduates' skills and capabilities with international standards and the actual needs of global oil and gas companies operating in Basra.


• Preparing students for career paths through specialized training programs and workshops that simulate the real work environment in the energy sector.


• Building sustainable communication channels with the industrial sector to secure field training and employment opportunities for university graduates. 🎯Division Tasks:


1. Supporting the Knowledge Economy: Working to transform scientific knowledge into marketable technological products through the Scientific Products Unit.


2. Nurturing the Entrepreneurial Generation: Through the Entrepreneurship Unit, the division strives to empower students to establish their own startups instead of waiting for traditional jobs, thus contributing to reducing unemployment and stimulating the private sector.


3. Incubation and Modeling: Through the Technology Incubator Unit (managed by Mr. Sajjad Abdul Hassan Abdul Nabi), the division provides the necessary logistical and technical support for projects.


4. Sustainable Human Resource Development: Our role does not end with graduation; it extends through the Qualification and Employment Unit to ensure the development of graduates' technical and personal skills in accordance with the international standards of oil and technology companies operating in the region.
