About the Department

The Department of Media and Government Communication is directly linked administratively and organizationally to the President of the University, and includes the Media Division and the Public Relations Division. It is the official body responsible for managing institutional communication, highlighting the university's academic and educational identity, and shedding light on its mission, goals, activities, and scientific, research, and societal achievements through various media and communication channels.

The department works to build and strengthen bridges of communication between the university, its staff, and various segments of society, establishing the positive institutional image of the university, and enhancing its media presence locally and internationally, thereby contributing to documenting its relations with governmental, academic, media, and societal institutions.

The department also undertakes the documentation of all activities and events organized by the university, including conferences, seminars, workshops, and scientific, cultural, intellectual, social, and voluntary activities, highlighting them in a way that reflects the academic standing of the university and its mission in community service.

Media Division Tasks
  • Preparing, editing, and publishing news and media reports concerning the university and its formations after technical and linguistic review.
  • Preparing television reports and introductory films about university activities.
  • Providing the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research with university news for publication via official platforms.
  • Preparing and updating the university's annual directory.
  • Providing the Public Relations window at the Ministry with news and media materials.
  • Publishing news of voluntary activities via approved ministerial platforms.
  • Monitoring rumors and responding to them according to approved media and legal frameworks.
  • Coordinating with media outlets and organizing journalistic and media coverages for university events.
  • Organizing workshops and training courses in media and intellectual fields.
  • Designing and producing folders, brochures, posters, and awareness materials.
  • Monitoring what is published about the university in the media and preparing periodic reports thereon.
  • Completing official correspondence and letters pertaining to the division.
  • Archiving news, photos, videos, and official documents.
  • Issuing official media statements in the name of the university.
  • Monitoring fake and impersonating pages of the university name and taking necessary legal measures regarding them.
  • Monitoring the media email and incoming messages via social media platforms.
  • Covering voluntary and community activities organized by the university.
  • Producing visual materials and introductory films and publishing them via the university's YouTube channel.
  • Managing the university's official accounts on social media platforms.
  • Providing the Electronic Computing Center with daily news for publication on the website.
  • Monitoring colleges' websites and correcting media violations if any.
  • Publishing legal advertisements, tenders, and auctions in official newspapers.
  • Organizing media coverage for national, social, and official occasions.
  • Highlighting outstanding scientific research and academic achievements of faculty members.
  • Preparing media and awareness campaigns related to ministry directives.
  • Preparing official responses to letters received from the Media and Public Relations Department.
  • Preparing the annual media plan and periodic performance reports.
  • Supporting colleges and departments in organizing conferences and events.
  • Designing and producing media materials using the latest digital technologies.
  • Executing any other tasks assigned to the division by the university presidency.
Public Relations Division Tasks
  • Executing the university's communication policy and enhancing its institutional image.
  • Building and enhancing relations with media outlets, governmental, and private institutions.
  • Receiving official delegations and organizing visit programs and receptions.
  • Enhancing the positive mental image of the university among various segments of society.
  • Publishing official advertisements concerning the university.
  • Developing institutional awareness among university staff regarding its mission and goals.
  • Organizing reception and honoring ceremonies in accordance with official protocols and norms.
  • Preparing congratulatory and condolence banners on official occasions.
  • Preparing official congratulatory messages in the name of the university president.
  • Participating in protocol, reception, and media committees for university conferences and celebrations.
  • Preparing and sending ministerial forms related to media and communication.
  • Coordinating with ministerial committees and receiving official delegations.
  • Organizing official invitations for entities and institutions participating in university events.
  • Receiving inquiries and feedback from students, staff, and the public via official platforms and following up on them.
  • Promoting ministerial advertisements and programs.
  • Monitoring what is published about the university in the media and presenting it to the university presidency.
  • Enhancing communication with society and providing it with accurate and reliable information.
  • Monitoring and analyzing public opinion trends.
  • Sending university plans and activities to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
  • Promoting electronic systems and services approved by the ministry.
  • Promoting evening study programs in the university's colleges.
  • Preparing and implementing media crisis management plans and protecting institutional reputation.
