🏛️ About the Department:
The Legal Affairs Department is the cornerstone that ensures the integrity of administrative decisions and their compliance with applicable laws and regulations, particularly the State and Public Sector Employees Discipline Law No. (14) of 1991 and its amendments, the Civil Service Law No. (24) of 1960 as amended, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Law No. (40) of 1988 as amended.
Its core mission is to provide legal protection in accordance with university procedures and to guarantee the exercise of administrative and financial powers in accordance with the principle of legality.
The Legal Department acts as the guardian of the institution, combining legal consultation, litigation, and legislative drafting. It aims to uphold the rule of law within the university campus and protect the rights of the university and its employees, thus ensuring the smooth operation of the educational and administrative processes without legal conflicts.
The department reports directly to the University President on sovereign matters and administratively to the Vice President for Administrative Affairs, granting it flexibility in implementation and decision-making power.

Rights and Litigation Division
1- Representing the university before judicial authorities in all lawsuits in which the university is a party (plaintiff or defendant).
2- Pursuing and protecting the university's rights and completing legal procedures inside and outside the university.
3- Monitoring the implementation of court rulings.
Consultations Division
1- Directly supervising the work of the legal divisions within the colleges.
2- Reviewing and auditing university and administrative orders and ensuring their compliance with legal requirements to prevent their invalidation.
Student Contracts and Guarantees Division
1- Preparing contracts, memoranda of understanding, guarantees, and undertakings.
2- Chairing or serving on audit and investigation committees related to employee violations, in accordance with the State and Public Sector Employees Discipline Law No. (14) of 1991, as amended.
