About the Department
The Audit and Internal Control Department is one of the vital departments at the University. It plays a pivotal role in strengthening the principles of governance, transparency, and accountability by verifying the integrity of financial and administrative procedures and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and bylaws, thereby contributing to enhancing institutional performance efficiency and achieving the University's goals.

Department Vision
The Audit and Internal Control Department strives to be an independent and effective regulatory body that contributes to enhancing integrity, transparency, and institutional compliance. It does so by reviewing and evaluating internal systems and procedures, ensuring the integrity of financial and administrative operations, preserving university assets, and supporting management in making informed, sound decisions.
The Department works to achieve the following:
- Ensuring the Integrity of Financial Operations: Verifying the validity of revenues and expenditures and ensuring they are documented according to approved financial controls.
- Enhancing Compliance: Monitoring adherence to applicable laws, regulations, instructions, and policies.
- Protecting University Assets: Reducing the risks of manipulation, embezzlement, or misuse of resources and assets.
- Improving Institutional Performance: Identifying strengths and weaknesses and providing recommendations that contribute to raising performance efficiency and improving procedures.
- Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, assessing them, and proposing solutions and measures to mitigate their effects.
Department Tasks
- Executing periodic audits of financial and administrative activities according to annual and periodic plans.
- Reviewing financial records, reports, and relevant documents, and verifying their integrity and accuracy.
- Evaluating the efficiency and effectiveness of the internal control system and proposing measures to develop it.
- Investigating administrative and financial violations and suspicions, and preparing the necessary reports and recommendations in accordance with applicable regulations.
