About the Department
The Internal Departments Affairs Department at the University of Basrah for Oil and Gas is an administrative department established by Ministerial Order No. (11/04/H 3068) on November 4, 2024. It is responsible for overseeing student housing, providing a safe and integrated university residential environment—particularly for students from other provinces—thereby contributing to supporting their academic journey and achieving psychological and social stability.
The University has placed great importance on providing suitable university housing by preparing basic facilities and services, offering an appropriate living environment that meets students' needs, and ensuring an atmosphere conducive to academic achievement, creativity, and excellence. The department continues to develop its services to keep pace with the growth in the number of admitted students and respond to modern university education requirements.

Department Mission
The department is committed to providing decent and safe university housing for students from other provinces and students of undergraduate and postgraduate studies, while delivering various residential and administrative services that contribute to a stable and stimulating learning environment, enhancing students' scientific and creative capabilities, and preparing them to contribute effectively to society.
Department Objectives
- Provide a safe and suitable residential environment that supports the academic and psychological stability of students.
- Prepare qualified administrative and technical staff to efficiently manage residential complexes.
- Develop residential services in line with student needs and modern standards.
- Enhance cooperation with government, private, and civil society organizations to support internal department students materially and morally.
- Improve the level of services provided to achieve student satisfaction and enhance the quality of university life.
Key Tasks
- Maintain and prepare internal departments and secure basic requirements before the start of each academic year.
- Collect housing fees from students in accordance with legal procedures and issue official receipts.
- Execute periodic and emergency maintenance for all internal departments and residential complexes.
- Supervise the provision of basic services within residential complexes and monitor their readiness.
- Follow up on the affairs of resident students and address their daily needs to ensure a suitable university environment.
Department Director
Dr. Fatima Hadi Ahmed
Possesses extensive experience in managing university residential facilities, providing logistics, and overseeing student affairs.
